Bardwell Solutions started in January 2014 focusing on developing solutions using the FileMaker® Platform by Claris®. With that commitment Bardwell Solutions has maintained membership in Claris’s FBA and James Bardwell has maintained certifications in consecutive versions of the FileMaker® Platform.

History

Prior to starting Bardwell Solutions, James Bardwell, has been working in Information Technology for more than 25 years. For many years I was the in-house FileMaker® developer of an engineering company in Chicago. Their primary FileMaker® solution was a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). I extended the LIMS to include barcode tracking of not only samples, but all packages from receipt to disposal or return to owner.

In addition to LIMS, I was responsible for maintaining and expanded other existing solutions and developing new solutions. Other solutions I developed included:

• Quality Systems tracking of equipment calibration and employee training records;
• Marketing CRM integration with Deltek Vision system;
• Accounting budgeting, collections, and data clean up tools; and
• Corporate administration tools for tracking employees and professional and corporate licensing requirements.

The solutions were inter-connected, sharing overlapping data, to avoid duplicate entry. Furthermore, the solutions connected with other proprietary database systems (primarily Microsoft SQL) which supported company Accounting and HR functions. The ability to share data greatly reduced data entry and extended and enhanced data access and reporting beyond the capabilities of the proprietary systems.

Location

Though based in Spokane, Washington I readily provide services to clients across the U.S. (and beyond). In fact rather than spend time planning visits and meetings, it often is more beneficial to clients, even close by, to pick up the phone, share screens and quickly resolve problems.
